Now, it is important to note that aggressiveness is not always appreciated especially if the reputation of the aggressor is that of a flirt. Getting rejected on Facebook could be very embarrassing and therefore it is important to approach the issue with caution. In order to approach a friend for a date it is important to first understand the reservations of the friend towards the way of approach. A number of people are turned off by direct approach whereas for others, direct approach is the only way you can convince them for a date. Once the predisposition of the friend is known, one can approach the friend for a date. The idea of date is also very ambiguous. Some people consider a simple dinner or a movie as a date whereas for more flamboyant ones date is anything but a simple dinner or movie. It is therefore always wise not to mention the word “Date” anytime during the conversation. Rather than going into the complications of the word “Date” it is always better to stick to less complex words like Dinner or Movie.
Once the friend has agreed to come out with you, it is important to do some ground work and preparation before the big occasion. It is prudent to have a plan. Some people prefer taking things as they come however, an unplanned date can be disastrous specially if the person you are dating is fuzzy or has an eye for detail and is not as enterprising as you are. As a part of preparation, it is important to buy a gift for the person. For casual dates, flowers or card may serve the purpose.
